 More Than Warhammer?

Miniatures related news

As late as only I can make it, here is another update about our galleries:

Let us start with Rzymek, who added photos of Bretonnian Grail Knights and Questing Knights, Wood Elf Treeman, Eagles and a Great Eagle, and a Dwarf Gyrocopter.

Then there's Kacper_gda and his gallery updated with photos of Karanak and Flesh Hounds of Khorne.

Lemartes showed his latest Eldar Autarch, and Slawol posted a photo of his Dragon Rune Orc.

Szczurek posted a photo of his entry for the 3rd CofC Miniature Exchange: the Imperial Guard Sniper, and so did Szary with his entry: Kasrkin Sergeant Lemartes.

Nameless painted Thunderlord - dwarf with an attitude from Avatars of War, and three Warmachine miniatures: Red Thrall, Purple Thrall and Green Thrall.

Illusionrip reposted photos of his paintjob on this garage kit, but also added this nice Infinity Yuan Yuan diorama and a closeup of Yuan Yuan, which was awarded in the Infinity Painting Competition organized by Wargamer.pl.

And the last painter in this update is Demi_morgana, who finished the squad of Death Guard Terminators of Nurgle, and posted photos of the remaining squaddies: one Death Guard Terminator, another Terminator of Nurgle and this Terminator. But he's not only painting Nurgle stuff, and this Mid-Nor Scourge Bearer and "Red Hook" prove it!

Enjoy!

 Slayer of Daemon Winners

Miniatures related news

As many of you may alredy know, Games Workshop decided that there would be no Golden Demon in Poland this year. But this didn't discourage Polish painters who came up with the idea of making their own painting contest instead. This year we had the first edition of the Slayer of Daemon painting competition in Warsaw.

If you still don't know the winners of the contest, you can check the full list of winners and a collection of Slawol's pictures. Still not the official ones, but we hope that the official photographer doesn't make us wait too long for them! icon_wink

We hope to meet even more of you at the contest in 2010!

Golden Demon Germany 2009 - We Were There!

Miniatures related news

You probably know that on August 16th there was a Golden Demon in Cologne. So we decided to take a trip to Germany, see the city, meet other painters, show our miniatures, enter the contest, try our luck, and generally have fun!

Cologne is a fantastic city, and we enjoyed our stay there very much. But let's talk a bit more about the contest...

Many painters from quite a few different countries came to the event, so there were many interesting entries. In addition to their entries, there was a nice collection of various miniatures many of us know from the internet. It was great to see the real things. There was a painting demo prepared by the German team and invited guest painters. There were many other attractions at the Games Day, but because one picture says more than many words, why don't you check our photo-report from the German Golden Demon and Games Day. If you want to see pictures of the Golden Demon entries, we prepared a gallery with a load of pictures. Some are better, some are worse, but they give you some idea of what was presented at the contest.
Don't forget to enlarge the pictures. They look much better in full size icon_smile

Ana returned home with gold won in Warhammer Single Miniature category, and one more honorable mention. Illusionrip became a finalist in two categories. Congratulations to the winners, and thanks for entering your models to everybody who did it.
Good luck in the next contests everybody!

So we're back from another Golden Demon...

This time Golden Demon Poland took place in Poznan, and we had a great chance to meet very nice people from other countries, see some excellent miniatures entered into the competition, and spend some great time.

We managed to return with 9 Golden Demons: 5 for Ana, 2 for Illusionrip, 1 for Szary and 1 for el_kornikus, and many other honorable mentions (finalists). Congratulations to all the authors of awarded models for the excelent display of skill and imagination, thanks to everybody who entered for participating in this contest! It wouldn't be possible without your contributions! Thanks to everybody who spent their time with us and joined us during the afterparty! We had a great time!

Special congratulations go to Ben Komets for his amazing diorama, which won him the Slayer Sword! Well done, man! icon_smile

If you don't want to wait for the official coverage, you can see our photos in our report. We tried to remember the authors, and these whom we managed to recall are mentioned here. And if you want to see photos from the afterparty - we have them too!

We'll be uploading more photos from the event as soon as we can, but in the meantime you can enjoy those we already managed to upload! Thanks to you all once more! icon_smile

Razza on Chest of Colors? That's true. icon_biggrin

Szary interviewed Darren Latham, a.k.a. Razza, who is a well known member of the 'Eavy Metal team, whose works are very popular. I must say I was impressed with this exhaustive and interesting text. I believe many of you will enjoy this reading, so if you want to read the first part of our Masters of Miniatures series, check the interview with Razza out!

Bazyliszek 2007 - Painting contest results

Miniatures related news

Yesterday we returned from Bazyliszek - an annual convention in Warsaw. There's always a painting competition at Bazyliszek, called "Van Gork's Sunflowers". Some of us participated in this contest and we're back with a few trophies, and a lot of photos. If you want to see all the winning entries, just visit our forum. But if you want to see even more photos - including all the remaining entries, other miniatures, and photos from the event - just visit the gallery.

For those who are curious who painted which mini, we tried to identify as many authors as possible and put their names in the captions of the pics in the gallery. But if you know the author of an undescribed entry - just let us know.
Thanks a lot! icon_smile
